New Hawaii Airlift

On May 1st, Hawaiian Airlines introduced a nonstop daily service between Honolulu and Oakland, Calif. The new service is part of the provider’s response to the sudden closures of both Aloha and ATA airlines. Oakland will be Hawaiian’s sixth gateway in California and 10th in the Western U.S. hawaiianairlines.com

Alaska Airlines has announced new service from the mainland to Maui, from both Seattle and Anchorage. Year-round service between Seattle-Tacoma Airport and Kahului Airport begins on July 17, and seasonal flights between Anchorage and Kahului will run twice weekly from Oct. 31, 2008 to April 25, 2009. alaskaair.com
