JW Marriott Brand Expanding to Caribbean
Marriott International announced plans for a 131-room JW Marriott hotel in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. The hotel will open in 2014 in the lower half of a 15-story tower being built over the existing Blue Mall Santo Domingo in the city’s Paintini district. The JW Marriott brand currently includes more than 30 hotels in North and South America, but the Dominican Republic property will be the brand’s first in the Caribbean. usatoday.com
