A Napa Tasting Room, Coming to a City Near You

And you thought your travel luggage was heavy. For a cross-country tour in honor of its 40th anniversary, Silver Oak Cellars winery will be lugging around a mobile tasting room, a photographer to document the journey and—using a custom Airstream—a water tower like the one on its iconic label.

The unusual trek is slated to last eight weeks, from June 5 to August 4. Along the way, Silver Oak will pour wine in an incredible 60 cities, from major metropolises (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York) to more off-the-beaten-path locales (Crescent City, Calif.; Chamberlain, S.D.; Cooperstown, N.Y.). The event will kick off and end at the winery’s home base in Geyserville, Calif.

In addition to the tour, the winery is commemorating its anniversary with a collector’s, limited-edition Magnum bottle and refreshed silveroak.com website—but it’s the road trip that’s understandably generating the most buzz.

Stay tuned to Silver Oak’s blog for more information, including to-be-announced official pit stop dates. If you can’t make it to the vineyards of Napa but want to integrate a winery offsite of equal caliber, this is a pretty neat way to do it.
