A Peek Inside Miraval Resort’s New Spa

This weekend, Miraval Resort & Spa in Tucscon, Ariz., is celebrating the grand opening of its newly refurbished spa space, dubbed the Life in Balance Spa With Clarins. The last bit of the name reflects the resort’s partnership with French cosmetics company Clarins, whose products have provided the inspiration for several of the spa’s exclusive treatments.

Conceived by Mithun Architects and Clodagh Design, the spa’s design features an elegant minimalism that blurs the boundaries between outdoor and indoor spaces. At 16,000 sq. ft., it features 23 treatment rooms plus a VIP spa suite, not to mention such expected amenities as saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and pedicure and manicure stations.

As I type, various VIPs and media outlets are descending on the spa for a celebration that will undoubtedly include plenty of opportunities to try out the new spa menu, which includes everything from a Mountain Berry Clay Renewal Ritual to Naga Thai Massage. I’m sure we all wish we could be there, too, but the next best thing is to live vicariously through these photos, which offer a glimpse of what guests can expect:
