The Art of Fabric
Ballrooms can be a tricky thing to dress up. Most have the same dimensions and same drab colors, but the use of fabric seems to be taking interior design to a whole new level. One such company to do so: GuildWorks.
The company specializes in fabric architecture, using tension fabrics to create a dramatic visuals for planners to showcase colorful lights, images or even logos. These kite-like geometric shapes can make the space look transcendent. Past corporate events the company has designed spaces for include the Hilton grand opening in Vancouver, Wash.; the Portland Business Alliance; and the UW Foundation Fundraiser in Madison, Wis. At larger-scale events such as this year’s 311 concert at MGM Grand Las Vegas, the company created fabric canopies that soared over thousands of screaming fans. The company can also design tent-like structures to provide shade for outdoor events.
Because the company is all about visualization, why don’t you check out some of their designs below for yourself? This new kind of architecture is anything but ordinary.
