The Portofino recently completed an $11 million renovation and the property’s 8,000 square feet of conference and meeting space is ready to show off its contemporary nautical theme.  A highly desirable location for meeting planners and socialites alike, the Portofino is the only waterfront hotel in the Los Angeles area.  The property is surrounded by water – the Pacific on one side and marina on the other, for a stunningly picturesque environment.

    As the host of scores of weddings a year, Portofino offers a “Wedding Tasting,” a special amenity for brides and grooms-to-be who have booked their wedding at the hotel. Held three times a year, the event is free for the bride and groom and gives them a chance to experience all the choices available to them for planning their big day.  A full, multi-course catering offering highlights the menu options, dinner tables are decorated in different linens to display the choices and upgrades available for the wedding, various floral arrangements are at each table, even select vendors, such as Portofino’s preferred photographers are on-site to discuss options with the bride and groom.  Throughout the evening there is a DJ or live music for entertainment and at the end of the evening there is dancing and a drawing for prizes such as dinner at BALEENlosangeles.

Function space amenities include state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment in each of the larger rooms and a full-service staff to assist with planning and day-of event execution. From team building to weddings, the staff ensures that each event is carried out with great precision and success.  The Portofino’s creative catering staff, under the direction of Executive Chef Brian Drosenos creates a remarkable and unique flavor for every occasion.
 

Meeting Space Details

Accommodating up to 280 guests for dinner and dancing and 300 for cocktail reception, the Bayside Ballroom seats 300, theater-style, and offers a 180-degree view of the Pacific Ocean and Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Pacific Ballrooms I and II, seating 180 banquet-style, accommodates up to 150 guests for dinner and dancing and 250 for cocktail reception.  Ceiling height is 9.5 feet, and floor-to-ceiling windows and private terrace offer striking ocean views.

The Ocean Room, seating 75 people theater-style, features a balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean and accommodates up to 90 guests for dining and 100 for cocktail reception.  These rooms all offer full audio/visual with DSL available. The smaller Marina Room, seating 60 theater-style, the Harbor Room, seating 40 theater-style and Redondo Boardroom, seating 16, are great for breakout sessions, board meetings or private dinners.  The latter is ideal for small corporate retreats.  All feature ceiling height of 8 feet.
