Get more oceanside in your life
When you hear “Los Cabos,” you think: all-inclusive resort, oceanside leisure, sunshine. And all of that is true. Once I visited, I found even more: adventure, oasis, will-it-be-okay-if-I-accidentally-miss-my-flight-home? The aspect I was most excited about, I didn’t hesitate to share with my friends and family prior to my departure, was the food. And, oh yes, the food impressed—and so did every other moment.
Meet and Stay
Staying at Nobu Hotel Los Cabos felt like a dream with my expansive studio suite. Whether your room offers views of the golf course or the private beach, you’re bound to spend some time gazing out the window. The bathroom made it ultra-luxurious, with a rain shower and an onsen teak soaking tub against a wall decorated with smooth pebbles. The property offers 200 guest rooms alongside over 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Plus, its location just outside downtown Cabo San Lucas in the Diamante community makes for a quiet escape outside of the action.
Grand Velas Boutique Hotel made waves in Los Cabos when it opened just one year ago, in January 2024. With 79 suites and 10 room categories, the adults-only, all-inclusive luxury property is perfect for a bespoke experience you can’t find anywhere else, such as private plunge pools or hot tubs available on the balconies of every room. From the oceanfront Terraza Cielo, your attendees can enjoy fresh oceanfront air and views of a private beach. Additional meeting spaces include the 2,745-square-foot divisible Tamayo Ballroom, plus more outdoor spaces.
At Chileno Bay Resort & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection, you’ll find yet another private beach, and one of the only swimmable private beaches in Cabo San Lucas. The resort is known for its legendary Tom Fazio-designed golf course, available to members and hotel guests only. With three food and beverage outlets plus a hidden speakeasy bar, an elegant spa with a hydrotherapy circuit and exciting activities such as the ever-popular sunrise paddleboarding, it has all-inclusive woven into every offering. It offers 42 hotel rooms, plus villas based on availability, and one meeting room with space for up to 25 attendees, in addition to restaurant buyouts.
Eat
If you’re staying at Nobu, don’t pass up the opportunity to dine at Pacific, where I had the first of many fish tacos I would get throughout my visit, while enjoying views of the beach.
If you find yourself at Grand Velas Boutique Hotel, know that the property offers three restaurants, one for each meal. Plus, guests have access to seven more restaurants at Grand Velas Los Cabos, with 385 more guest rooms. I sat down for a delicious five-course tasting menu at Roca, where the meal paired with the ocean views was simply unmatched.
And you’ll find yet another oceanfront dining experience at Chileno Bay’s Comal. Everything I ordered was outstanding, but the churro and hot chocolate I ordered for dessert took the gold, with the churro rolled into a rose shape and the hot chocolate poured tableside into traditional clay mugs. I’m still dreaming of it.
Experience
Los Cabos has so much to offer in terms of experience, so if you can manage to tear yourself away from the incredible time you’ll spend at your all-inclusive of choice (though I couldn’t blame you if you decided to #resortlife it all the way through), I recommend heading over to San José del Cabo. If you have family and friends back home waiting on souvenirs, this is where you’ll find them. Plus, the historic downtown is home to numerous celebrated art galleries.
And if your attendees are on the more adventurous side, tour operator High Tide Los Cabos has activities to suit a wide range of group sizes and preferences. I embarked on a jeep tour to explore Fox Canyon, a pristine regional preserve. This tour is suited for smaller groups; if your group is larger, High Tide will work with you to coordinate a fleet so you can bring all your attendees for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
