The Boulders Resort & Spa

Carefree, Arizona

The multimillion-dollar renovation completed earlier this year at The Boulders preserved the property’s Native American persona by drawing inspiration from the surrounding desert. A member of Hilton Hotel’s Curio Collection, The Boulders features a new Discovery Lounge and 5,500-square-foot ballroom that offer breathtaking views of the high Sonoran Desert and 12 million-year-old boulder formations in its backyard.

“The scale, pattern and colors from the Native American heritage influenced the architectural detailing, carpet patterns and rich colors,” says June Chun, lead designer for DiLeonardo. “We included many custom details that truly bring the indoors and outdoors together beautifully.”

The Boulders’ 160 updated casitas maintain their signature adobe architecture. The property also offers 61 villas, more than 50,000 sq. ft. of event space and two golf courses.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

Los Angeles, California

A meeting spot for the well-heeled set and creative industries, The Hollywood Roosevelt wrapped up a $25 million renovation of its guest rooms in March. The new design, which features beautiful leather and soft gray tones with persimmon-red accents, adds a modern twist while maintaining the integrity of the hotel’s Spanish Colonial roots. There are 298 guest rooms and suites, and more than 25,000 sq. ft. of event space. The 4,500-square-foot Blossom Ballroom hosted the first Academy Awards in 1929. “Our stunning guest room renovation celebrates this landmark hotel’s character, charm and Hollywood roots while making us all very enthusiastic for the future ahead,” says Brett Blass, chief operating officer.
