The World Health Organization has released a report indicating the safest, and most dangerous, destinations for driving. Maybe it is the proliferation of Volvos, but Sweden came out as the safest place to drive, with only 3.0 traffic-related deaths per 100,000 people. The United States has 11.4 deaths per 100,000 people, which translates to 30,000 traffic-related deaths annually.
When analyzed geographically, Europe’s roads are the safest. Statistics indicate there are 10.1 traffic fatalities per 100,000 on the continent. The Americas (North and South) collectively come in second, at 16.1. Africa has the most dangerous roads, with 24.1 deaths per 100,000. The road fatality rate per 100,000 in China is 20.5, with 40 percent of drivers having less than three years of driving experience. qz.com
