One of the most enticing new event spaces at The Palazzo is Jay-Z’s new sportsclub/nightclub hybrid, the 40/40 Club.
Developed at a cost of $20 million, the 24,000-square-foot “ultra sports bar and lounge” has five VIP rooms, each of which can hold up to 150 people.
The stylish Kenwood Vineyards Lounge, for example, has leather couches, a leather bed(!), a pool table and a complimentary Ms. Pacman arcade game, plus an outdoor cabana with a view of The Strip, a sunken living room and chess boards (it can host up to 70 guests). Four other similar rooms are available for up to 150 people each. VIP rooms come with dedicated servers.
Rooms are also packed to the gills with huge plasma-screen TVs, wireless Internet access, Xboxes and PlayStations, and complimentary bottles of Ace of Spades, the Armand de Brignac brand of champagne that Jay-Z endorses. All told, the multilevel, upscale sports bar and lounge features 85 plasma-screen TVs for optimal sports viewing.
For the curious, the club’s name refers to an elite group of baseball players who hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in one season.
