(May 2, 2013) —Smart Meetings magazine, the meetings industry’s premier resource for meeting professionals, is proud to announce that it has won the 2013 Maggie Award for Best Feature Article, “A Winning Combination” written by David Vranicar, within the Creative Trade & Consumer Print division for publications with circulations of less than 50,000. Sponsored by the Western Publishers Association, the prestigious Maggies honor excellence in print and electronic publishing in more than 100 editorial, design, promotional and event categories. Smart Meetings was a finalist in four additional categories, including Best Interview or Profile/Trade, Best Editorial Layout and Best Single Editorial Illustration/Trade and Most Improved Publication/Trade, following a newly refreshed design last year.

2013 Smart Meetings Event Schedule Announced
First Smart Event to be held in San Francisco on January 30

Sausalito, Calif. (January 29, 2013) —Smart Meetings magazine, the meetings industry’s premier resource for meeting professionals, today announced the launch of its annual series of One-Day and Three-Day Smart Events. The programs include preset one-on-one appointments with premier hotels and destinations, educational sessions and inspiring speakers, along with festive meals and entertainment during networking opportunities.
The first event will be held at the JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square on Jan. 30, 2013. It will feature speaker Roger Rickard and a top-notch mix of hotels and resorts along with some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading meeting producers.
“Our events are like our magazine come to life. They’re packed full of ideas to share and use at future events.
